DIVER DECAPITATED BY BOAT PROPELLER
Here's
a scoop for you: the first gel-filled silicone fake body ever attempted
in the history of special effects. Or, if you prefer, the world's first
man-shaped squeezy stress-relief ball.
He
was 'corpse of the week' on the BBC TV pathology drama Silent Witness.
I was doing Dead Ringers in the same
workshop when most of this job was taking shape. Conal Palmer and Rob
Pritchard took care of the body casting, cleanup and lab duties, whilst
Charlie Bluett built the body's internal 'skeleton'. I came on board for
the seaming and painting process, and drew on the tattoos you see here.
Dress our man in a shredded wetsuit, plunge him into
the briny depths, and you have a pretty damned convincing end result.
Rotten.com would be proud. Thanks to Charlie for the ocean-going pics! |
